Dextrose 50% is indicated for use as an aid in the treatment of uncomplicated primary ketosis in cattle.

Dosage and Administration:
The usual dose is 50 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight. It should be administered intravenously only. Dosage may be repeated in 8-10 hours or on successive days if necessary. If there is no noticeable improvement in the condition being treated after three (3) to four (4) days of treatment, consult a veterinarian. Aseptic precautions should be observed such as using a sterile needle and syringe. Disinfect the site of injection.
