The presence of tapeworms is indicated by the presence of tapeworm segments in the feces. Tapeworm segments are white, pinkish-white or yellow-white and are similar in size and shape to flattened grains of rice. Animals pick-up tapeworms by eating or mouthing rodents or other small mammals.
